🔬 The Science Behind a Matte-Safe Ceramic Coating
Most ceramic coatings are engineered to enhance gloss. They work by levelling microscopic peaks and valleys in the paint surface, creating a glass-like reflection.
That’s perfect for high-gloss finishes but a nightmare for matte paint, where those tiny peaks and valleys are exactly what diffuse light to create the soft, satin appearance.
LDC Pro Matte is formulated differently:
•Low-Solid Resin Structure – Standard ceramics contain high solid content (up to 80%) that forms a thick, glossy film. LDC Pro Matte uses a low-solid, cross-linked SiO₂ polymer that conforms to surface texture rather than filling it.
•Matte-Balanced Refractive Index – The coating’s refractive index is tuned to match the base paint’s optical properties, ensuring light continues to scatter and the satin effect stays true.
•Non-Levelling Cure – Instead of levelling out, the coating anchors into the micro-texture, leaving the matte’s light-scattering structure untouched.
